Professionally Personal
First and foremost is how you present yourself to the class. Remember that teaching is like selling, and if you are a good esthetician, you should have a decent amount of experience with the latter. In this situation, you are “selling” the information they will need to graduate and go on to become successful skin care professionals themselves. You should always put on a positive attitude, even if you’re having a bad day, since your outlook will set the tone for the entire room. Make “professionally personal” connections with your students. When you have new students join your class, take some time at the beginning of the day to chat with them and give them an opportunity to share something about themselves with the others. Make this relevant to the course by explaining to them how important it is to be able to speak with or in front of others and form professional relationships. After all, when they join the field they will have to build a client base and sell products. This cannot be done without talking and being comfortable doing so with strangers.Les Nouvelles Esthétiques & Spa
